Tunisian Farmers' Market Network Pilot Launches with Global Partnership
The Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP) officially launched the first pilot experience of creating a continuous network of farmers' markets on May 22, 2025.
This initiative is part of the technical cooperation between UTAP and the World Farmers' Market Coalition (WorldFMC), aiming to organize the Tunisian farmers' market under a new form and with modern standards, connecting regions.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of a meeting in Tunis on Sunday, between UTAP President Moez Ben Zaghdane and a WorldFMC delegation led by its General Director, Carmelo Troccoli.
This meeting falls within the framework of partnership and technical cooperation programs between UTAP and WorldFMC to create a permanent and continuous network of farmers' markets in Tunisia, opening up to different regions and fostering a sustainable and direct relationship between farmers and consumers.
