Minister Calls for Enhanced Efforts to Realize "Automotive Smart City" Project
The Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, urged for reinforced efforts to realize the "Automotive Smart City" project on Wednesday, July 30.
This initiative responds to the growing demand for investments in the automotive components sector.
During the third meeting of the working group dedicated to monitoring this project, the Minister reiterated that "Automotive Smart City" aligns with the Industrial Strategy and Innovation, as well as the Pact for the Competitiveness of the Tunisian Automotive Industry, with a vision extending until 2027.
According to the Minister, this project represents a tremendous opportunity to position Tunisia as a regional platform for automotive component manufacturing. This dynamic is expected to contribute to a significant increase in the country's export value.
Notably, this sector comprises around 300 enterprises and employs over 120,000 people. The annual production reaches 8 billion dinars, while exports exceed 7.5 billion dinars.
