Internal Mobility
Internal mobility affected 928,924 people between 2019 and 2024. Among them, 42,096 individuals changed delegations, while the others moved within the same region. Inter-governorate migration involved 228,458 people, a notable decrease compared to the 430,553 migrants recorded between 2009 and 2014.
Return Migration
In terms of return migration, 20,683 Tunisians returned from abroad between 2019 and 2024. Of these, 59.5% were men and 40.5% were women. The majority of return migrants were between 25 and 44 years old, often motivated by professional or family reasons. Another peak appears after 60 years, often due to retirement or family reunification.
