Despite Fiscal Advantages and Political Will, Community Companies Face Legislative Obstacles

Despite all the fiscal advantages, media hype, and political will evident in declarations and decision-making, the Secretary of State in charge of community companies, Hasna Jiballah, believes it's not enough.

On Saturday, January 18, during her visit to Kasserine for an information day, she stated, "The main obstacle hindering the creation of community companies is legislation." She explained that current laws in force do not facilitate the emergence of new community companies and added that work is currently underway to adapt legislation and make the investment ecosystem more inclusive.

Furthermore, she announced the establishment of a dedicated platform for community companies in cooperation with the National Register of Enterprises. This platform will feature a guide explaining how to proceed when creating a community company.

Currently, there are 140 community companies established in Tunisia, with 21 already operational. It's worth recalling that these companies will benefit from total tax exemption for the next ten years, as per the 2025 Finance Law.
