The Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation, Beyond Finance, and FosterImpact have launched the Women Empowerment for Climate Fund, aiming to raise $100 million by 2025.
Objective
The fund aims to support women in implementing climate change adaptation policies and will finance local enterprises and microfinance institutions in Asia and Africa, focusing on access to clean water, clean energy, and sustainable agriculture.
Impact-Based Lending
The loans will be indexed on impact indicators such as women's representation in key positions or the development of climate-adapted products and services.
Technical Assistance
Beneficiaries will also receive technical assistance to maximize their impact and strengthen their inclusion in climate adaptation strategies.
