National Agency for Employment and Independent Work (ANETI) Announces End to Renewal of Professional Life Initiation Contracts (CIVP)
The National Agency for Employment and Independent Work (ANETI) has announced the cessation of renewals for Professional Life Initiation Contracts (CIVP) as of October 1, 2025. Beneficiaries reaching the end of the maximum duration provided by law will no longer be able to extend their contract beyond 12 months, except in exceptional cases authorized for a limited period not exceeding 19 months.
Purpose of CIVP
The CIVP, established as a temporary insertion mechanism for young graduates, allows for the acquisition of initial professional experience within a company. According to Tunisian regulations, it is framed by the same legislation as fixed-term contracts (CDD), with a strict limit to avoid prolonged precariousness.
Implementation Details
Concretely, ANETI specifies that current contracts will continue until their normal term. An exceptional extension of seven months can be granted only if validated by the host company and the agency, but it cannot under any circumstances exceed the legal limit of 19 months in total.
Objective of the Decision
This decision aims to put an end to the systematic renewal of CIVPs, a practice that has become frequent, and to encourage companies to recruit young graduates on fixed-term (CDD) or permanent (CDI) contracts after the insertion period. ANETI also reminds beneficiaries that they can turn to other active employment support programs designed to accompany their insertion into the labor market.
