The Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) Establishes a Center of Excellence for Sustainability
The Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) has set up a Center of Excellence for Sustainability, aimed at promoting sustainability standards in Africa.
According to Walid Ben Salah, Vice President of PAFA and President of the Tunisian Institute of Chartered Accountants (OECT), this initiative, approved during the 50th meeting of PAFA's Board of Directors in Abuja, will provide technical and financial support to African accounting organizations.
The center aims to facilitate the adoption of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) sustainability standards and strengthen governance and transparency across the continent.
With an online platform to centralize resources, it will support professional accounting organizations (PAOs) by offering tailored tools for each country.
PAFA, in partnership with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), hopes to reinforce the influence of the accounting profession and contribute to Africa's socio-economic development.
