2025: A Challenging Year for Sotipapier

The year 2025 came to a close in a demanding climate for Sotipapier. Amidst tensions on raw materials, a tense social climate, and fluctuating demand, the company had to navigate through uncertain waters to stabilize its activity in the last quarter.

Production and Sales

The operational report shows a global slowdown, but hides different realities depending on the products. A decline in production: with 11,709 tonnes produced in Q4 2025, Sotipapier records a 17% decrease compared to last year. This decline is mainly due to the "corrugated paper" segment. Kraft paper, on the other hand, is a bright spot: while the overall turnover decreases by 9% (26.2 million TND), the Kraft segment shows remarkable resilience with a 23% increase. In contrast, corrugated paper plummeted by 38%.

External Constraints

Production was hindered by a strike in September and early October, disrupting deliveries. Additionally, the downturn in the Tunisian cement sector weighed on the demand for paper bags throughout the year.

Rigorous Financial Management

Despite the increase in the cost of imported raw materials, which erodes margins, Sotipapier has managed to sanitize its finances. Debt reduction: net debt decreased to 44.27 million TND (compared to 48.74 million TND at the end of 2024). This debt reduction effort was made possible by the regular repayment of loans. Investment slowdown: the pace of investments has significantly slowed down, from nearly 15 million TND in 2024 to around 8 million TND this year.
