US National Debt Surpasses $36,000 Billion for the First Time in History
For the first time in US history, the national debt exceeded $36,000 billion on November 15, according to US Debt Clock. In comparison, it stood at $34,000 billion in January 2024. In less than six months, the debt has surged by $1,000 billion, illustrating a worrying acceleration of national indebtedness. Meanwhile, the IMF anticipates a steady increase in the country's debt, which is expected to exceed 140% of GDP by 2032.
