Tunisia's Date Exports on the Rise
Tunisia has exported 94,100 tonnes of dates between October 2025 and February 2026, a 4% increase compared to the previous year, according to calculations by the Onagri and based on data from the Tunisian customs and the General Directorate of Organic Agriculture (DGAB). The revenue generated from these exports has reached 607 million Tunisian dinars, indicating a stable and thriving industry.
Dominant Variety
The Deglet Ennour variety accounts for 85% of Tunisia's date exports, selling at a price of 7.15 DT/kg. This variety is well-known and in high demand among foreign buyers, making it a key player in Tunisia's export market.
Stable Prices
The prices of dates have remained relatively stable, with a slight increase of only 0.2%.
Key Markets
The main buyers of Tunisian dates are:
- Europe, accounting for 44% of the volume
- Africa, with 23% of the volume
- Asia, with 22% of the volume
