China Vows to Fight Back Against US Tariffs "to the End"
China declared on Tuesday that it would stand ready to respond "to the end" to the tariffs imposed by the United States, in reaction to the additional surtax threats brandished by Donald Trump. Beijing denounced a strategy of pressure and blackmail, assuring that it would not yield to the American escalation.
"China will never accept this," a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce stated, specifying that if Washington persists, "China will fight back to the end," while reiterating its preference for constructive dialogue.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also rejected the American threats, highlighting Beijing's refusal to yield to pressure. Since his return to the White House, Donald Trump has imposed additional tariffs on Chinese products, already reaching 20% and set to rise to 54% as of April 9.
