Algerian Stock Exchange Sees 43% Capitalization Growth in Six Months
The Algerian Stock Exchange saw its capitalization reach 745.4 billion dinars (approximately 5.73 billion USD) by the end of June 2025, compared to 520 billion dinars at the beginning of the year, representing a significant 43% growth over six months, according to a report published on August 5 by the Commission for the Organization and Supervision of Stock Exchange Operations (COSOB).
This increase is mainly attributed to the listing of two new players: the Local Development Bank (BDL) and the startup Moustachir. The BDL, a public bank dedicated to the economic and social development of local communities, raised 61.88 billion dinars, including 44.2 billion dinars from a capital increase and 17.68 billion dinars from issuance premiums.
The stock market regulator also highlighted that the value of share transactions reached 4.5 billion dinars in the first half of 2025, a significant increase compared to the 1.35 billion dinars recorded in 2024, representing a 235% growth. The volume of traded securities also increased by 232.8%, reaching 2.1 million units.
