Tunisian Solidarity Bank Allocates 90 Million Dinars to Support Small Farmers

The Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS) has announced the allocation of funding worth 90 million dinars to support small farmers during the 2025/2026 agricultural season. This initiative, launched under the supervision of the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, and the Director General of the BTS, aims to strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of the Tunisian agricultural sector, a fundamental pillar of the national economy.

Funding Allocation

The funding will be distributed across three main agricultural seasons:

  • 30 million dinars for cereals
  • 40 million dinars for oilseeds
  • 20 million dinars for dates This strategic support is intended to enable small farmers to acquire the necessary seeds and fertilizers, maintain and harvest their crops, and ensure effective management of their agricultural products.

Increased Funding

The increase in credits, from 50 million dinars in 2024/2025 to 90 million in 2025, reflects the authorities' willingness to support small farmers in the face of growing demand. This exceptional funding includes fixed-rate loans, without guarantees, and with eased conditions to facilitate access for producers.

Expected Outcomes

These initiatives are expected to not only boost the agricultural sector but also stimulate the local economy by ensuring a more equitable distribution of resources and strengthening the country's food security. The Tunisian Solidarity Bank, alongside the Ministry of Agriculture, plays a crucial role in the economic revival of Tunisia's rural areas.
