The 7th edition of the Jaou Tunis Contemporary Art Biennale, organized by the Kamel Lazaar Foundation, will take place from October 9 to November 9, 2024, in various locations across the Tunisian capital. This year's theme, "Arts, Resistance, and Rebuilding the Future," will focus on the diversity of artistic forms and social struggles.

Jaou Lab: A Hub for Artistic Innovation

The program will feature "Jaou Lab," an artistic laboratory that will welcome around 300 students from 17 universities across Tunisia, including Gabès, Sfax, Kairouan, Sidi Bouzid, and others. Workshops will also be offered to students from the Greater Tunis area, as well as regional university workshops.

A Celebration of Artistic Diversity

The event will showcase the work of over 200 Tunisian and international artists. Nine exhibitions will be presented, dedicated to photography and video art. These exhibitions will take place in iconic locations across Tunis, including Avenue Habib Bourguiba, Bir Lahjar space, and the B7L9 art gallery in La Marsa.

Debates, Music, and Cultural Partnerships

The biennale will also feature debates with 25 speakers from diverse countries, as well as musical performances in partnership with cultural institutions such as the British Council and the Italian Cultural Center.
