BH Bank Launches International Call for Tenders for SWIFT Message Management Solution
The BH Bank has launched an international call for tenders for the acquisition and implementation of a SWIFT message management solution, including SWIFT GPI certification and an ISO 20022/CBPR+ converter. The deadline for submitting bids is set for Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 13:00 hours, with the date and time of receipt of bids being exclusively determined by the central ordering office of the BH Bank.
ISO 20022: The New International Standard for Cross-Border Transactions
ISO 20022 is the new international standard governing cross-border transactions, replacing ISO 15022. The migration from one system to another is based on the Cross-Border Payments and Reporting Plus (CBPR+), a market group preparing documentation for the migration of SWIFT cross-border payments to ISO 20022. The CBPR+ works are crucial, as ISO 20022 messages can generally be exchanged through different network service providers. However, in the context of the CBPR+ migration, we are talking about a SWIFT initiative and payments processed through its network. This migration is a highly complex subject and requires long months of work to implement the solution, test it, and support users.
A Complex Project with a Tight Deadline
This project assumes that major financial market players are already equipped, which is the case. The Tunisian CSD, Tunisie Clearing, is ready. On its part, the BCT has already migrated over 75% of its operations to ISO 20022. As a result, the BH Bank will be among the first local financial institutions to adopt these new rules. To recall, major international banks are also in the process of migrating and coexisting with ISO 15022 and 20022 standards. However, after a certain deadline, which varies from one institution to another, only messages according to the new standard will be processed. The global deadline is set for November 2025. The entire financial system is called upon to be up-to-date.
