Ministry of Transport Welcomes European Investment Bank Delegation to Discuss Cooperation and Priority Projects
The Ministry of Transport received a delegation from the European Investment Bank (EIB) on Monday, October 7, 2024, to explore cooperation opportunities and priority projects in the transport sector, particularly public collective transport.
As a key financing actor in this sector, the EIB reaffirmed its support for several strategic initiatives.
The meeting brought together several officials from the Ministry, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and directors from major transport companies, including the Tunis Transport Company (Transtu), the Tunisian Rapid Rail Network Company (RFR), and the Tunisian National Railway Company (Sncft).
During the discussions, several large-scale projects that could benefit from EIB financial support were highlighted. These include sustainable transport initiatives, maritime projects, and efforts in the blue economy and logistics.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of synergy between the various stakeholders to accelerate financing procedures. The need to maintain and intensify cooperation with the EIB was stressed, highlighting the promising results achieved so far and the opportunities for strengthening this collaboration.
