Central Bank of Tunisia Publishes 13th Annual Report on Banking Supervision
The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) released its 13th annual report on banking supervision today, December 5, 2024.
The report highlights the efforts to strengthen the stability of the sector despite a challenging economic context marked by budgetary, inflationary, and hydrological pressures.
It also underscores the improvements in solvency and banking governance, as well as the slowdown in credit activity and the increase in non-performing loans.
The BCT has continued to align itself with international standards, with prudential reforms and increased attention to climate and digital risks.
Measures aimed at enhancing transparency, service quality, and financial inclusion have also been introduced.
Despite the challenges, the BCT reaffirms its commitment to preserving the resilience of the banking system and supporting the necessary structural reforms.
