Central Bank of Tunisia to Launch New Digital Platform "EXOP" for Foreign Exchange Operations
The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) is set to launch a new digital platform, "EXOP", dedicated to depositing and processing foreign exchange requests, as well as a new version of the "Fiche-Invest" service for non-resident investments in Tunisia.
Modernization and Digitalization of Foreign Exchange Operations
In his opening speech, Mr. Fethi Zouhair Nouri, Governor of the BCT, emphasized that this initiative is part of the bank's modernization and digitalization process, and is a key pillar of its strategic plan for 2023-2025. He highlighted that the digitalization of the foreign exchange information system is a crucial step not only to modernize the foreign exchange system in Tunisia, but also to support the implementation of the new exchange code.
Strengthening Investor Confidence
Mr. Nouri also stated that, in the face of significant economic challenges, this project demonstrates Tunisia's ability to innovate and keep pace with technological advancements, and is a significant lever to strengthen investor confidence. He emphasized that the BCT will spare no effort to create a business-friendly environment that attracts both local and foreign investment, with the aim of stimulating sustainable and inclusive growth.
"EXOP" Platform: Simplifying Foreign Exchange Requests
The "EXOP" platform offers an integrated and secure solution for financial institutions, businesses, and individuals to submit foreign exchange requests to the BCT in a simple and rapid manner. The platform features:
- Electronic submission of requests with required documents
- Automatic validation of information and documents
- Real-time exchange with the file handler for any additional information
- Electronic decision-making with a 2D QR code for easy verification of authenticity
New Version of "Fiche-Invest" Platform: Modernizing and Enhancing Efficiency
The new version of the "Fiche-Invest" platform will integrate a new digitalization process for investment files related to external loans. The platform will feature:
- A fully digitalized process for investment files
- Improved user interface for easier navigation and use
- Enhanced security with QR code integration
- Real-time assistance for users throughout the declaration process
The new platform aims to respond to the growing needs of investors and the ecosystem, reducing processing time and enhancing data accuracy.
