BT Obtains AML 30000 Certification, Strengthening Its Commitment to Combating Financial Crime
BT has been awarded the AML 30000 certification, an international standard dedicated to combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (LAB/FT). This certification is built on models of normalization and certification schemes consecrated by international regulations on management systems. The certificate was issued by CERTIFINANCE-TUNISIE, following the opinion of CERTIPRO-FINANCE-PARIS, after an evaluation carried out by confirmed experts.
BT has been awarded its first AML 30000 compliance certificate following a upgrading process. By doing so, BT has voluntarily embarked on a trajectory of perfecting its operational device, which combines relevance and effectiveness to actively and sustainably combat the risks of financial crime inherent to its activity. BT has reinforced its entire control chain, intensified its support programs for its collaborators, and developed a culture of mastering compliance and financial security risks.
Renowned for its commitment to compliance and security, and backed by the technical quality of its teams, BT has engaged the necessary resources and material and technical means to achieve this mission. Aware of the major developments in compliance regulations, BT's ambition is to maintain its position and draw inspiration from the best practices and standards in this field.
The adoption of the AML 30000 standard by BT constitutes a guarantee of trust and consideration from various stakeholders and an additional lever of attractiveness for the bank as a financial institution in line with the most stringent international compliance standards.
Speaking on the occasion, the representative of the certification body highlighted that the evaluation exercise is based on requirements at least as strong as those of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), as apparent through the relevant prescriptions of the specification sheet dedicated to financial institutions, as well as a scoring system that considers recent developments observed at the international standard level, giving priority to the effectiveness of LAB/FT devices and the Risk-Based Approach, a cornerstone of the new international standard.
He also recalled that the AML 30000 standard has universal scope and that the consecrated methodology bears the mark of rigor, credibility, and the values of transparency and ethics.
At the closing of the ceremony, the representative of the certification body thanked the entire team that made this distinction possible, the result of sustained efforts and unwavering commitment.
