Central Bank of Tunisia Issues Circular on Inspection Modalities
The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has published Circular No. 2025-15, which officially defines the modalities for assigning mission orders and professional cards to its agents responsible for on-site inspections.
Key Provisions of the Circular
According to this circular, each BCT agent responsible for inspections must have a mission order and a professional card that conform to the official models specified in the circular's annexes. These documents enable clear identification of inspectors and guarantee the legitimacy of their missions in the field.
Return of Professional Cards
The circular also stipulates that any agent who has left the Central Bank's inspection corps must return their professional card. This measure aims to strengthen control and security around verification missions.
Implementation and Regulatory Framework
The circular will come into effect on March 2, 2026. It is part of the Tunisian laws related to exchange, the status of the Central Bank, banks, and financial institutions, as well as new regulations such as crowdfunding and credit reporting.
Enhanced Transparency and Compliance
By clarifying the specifications of inspectors' official documents, the Central Bank of Tunisia reinforces transparency and compliance in its on-site inspection activities. This ensures rigorous monitoring of financial institutions and exchange operations on the territory.
