Tunisia's Trade Balance Deficit Reaches -1765.5 MD in January 2025
The trade balance deficit has reached -1765.5 MD in January 2025, down from -2163.1 MD in December 2024.
Trade Exchanges Reach 5025.8 MD in Exports and 6791.3 MD in Imports
Tunisia's trade exchanges with the outside world at current prices in January 2025 show that exports have reached 5025.8 MD, down from 5148.5 MD in January 2024. Meanwhile, imports have reached 6791.3 MD, up from 5726.1 MD in January 2024.
Trade Balance Deficit Mainly Due to Deficits with Certain Countries
The trade balance deficit of -1765.5 MD is mainly due to deficits with certain countries, including:
- China: -971.2 MD
- Russia: -647.1 MD
- Algeria: -281.6 MD
- Turkey: -220.8 MD
- Greece: -197.6 MD
- India: -103.6 MD
Surplus Recorded with Other Countries
On the other hand, the trade balance surplus has been recorded with other countries, mainly:
- France: 361.7 MD
- Germany: 276.6 MD
- Italy: 268 MD
- Libya: 180.5 MD
- Morocco: 79.4 MD
Energy-Related Deficit Reaches -1078.4 MD
It is worth noting that the trade balance deficit excluding energy has decreased to -687 MD, while the energy-related deficit has reached -1078.4 MD, up from -683.6 MD in January 2024.
