La Badira Hotel Celebrates the Inauguration of the Leïla Menchari Suite
On this Thursday, April 10, 2025, the atmosphere is electric at La Badira, the only hotel in Tunisia to be a member of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World. Today's program features the inauguration of the Leïla Menchari suite, a tribute to the woman known as "The Queen of Magic."
Leïla Menchari was the first woman to lead the windows of the renowned Hermès store in Paris. Her inimitable talent and passion for Hammamet, a city that fueled her imagination, shine through in each of her creations. Inspired by her universe, the new LEGEND suite at La Badira celebrates the creativity and timeless elegance of this artist who elevated Tunisian culture and craftsmanship, leaving an indelible mark on the history of fashion and luxury worldwide.
The event is graced by the presence of Antoine Platteau, Director of Decoration at Hermès, testifying to the lasting impact of "The Fairy of Hermès" on the world of design and high-end decoration. Arlette Zouaoui and Chebilia Sayah Kaouel, designers of the suite, are also present alongside the artists who collaborated on the creation of this universe, including Mehdi Benedetto and Sinda Belhassen. Several local and international journalists representing renowned media outlets are among the guests.
Offering a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean, the 160-square-meter suite with a private pool embodies the visionary spirit and refinement of Leïla Menchari. Its décor, a subtle blend of noble materials, iridescent colors, and Tunisian craftsmanship, retranscribes her unique aesthetic and love for beauty in all its forms.
"We wanted to celebrate Leïla Menchari's heritage through a space that resembles her, combining elegance, authenticity, and poetry. This suite is an invitation to discover Hammamet in a new light, through the eyes of an artist who loved it so much," said Mouna Ben Halima, CEO of La Badira.
After visiting the suite, guests were treated to a creative workshop, where they designed their own window displays using fabrics, furniture, antiques, and various decorative objects at their disposal.
Since its opening, La Badira has embodied excellence in hospitality and the valorization of Tunisian heritage. 2025 marks its 10-year anniversary, with several events planned until December. In celebrating its 10th anniversary, the hotel reaffirms its commitment to promoting art, culture, and Tunisian know-how, while offering its guests an exclusive and unforgettable experience.
