African Development Bank Partners with Intel to Launch AI Training Program
The African Development Bank (AfDB) has partnered with Intel to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) training program, aiming to train 3 million Africans and 30,000 government officials.
The partnership, signed during the AfDB's recent Annual Meetings in Nairobi, Kenya, seeks to position Africans as contributors, rather than just consumers, of technology. The program aims to promote the mastery of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) among Africans.
The training programs will focus on the transformative potential of technology, particularly in areas such as agriculture, health, and education.
"The partnership will also help African countries, regional economic communities, and continental organizations develop harmonized policy and regulatory frameworks for AI, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, data, and cloud computing," according to the AfDB's statement.
