Franco-Tunisian Startup Kumulus Wins Prestigious HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award
In a prestigious event held in Dubai, Kumulus, a Franco-Tunisian startup, took home the top prize at the HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award. This international recognition honors the most innovative technological solutions to combat the global water crisis.
Organized by the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, the competition aims to promote sustainable approaches, particularly the use of renewable energy to produce potable water in high-stress water-scarce areas.
Kumulus was praised for its device that transforms humidity into potable water, a decentralized solution that targets remote or underserved communities, providing a concrete response to the challenges of water scarcity and climate change.
"This award marks a significant milestone in our journey, which is only just beginning," reacted on social media, expressing gratitude to the organizers and highlighting their ambition to continue their efforts towards universal access to clean water.
