Kenyan Companies SunCulture and Turaco Launch "SunCulture Protect" to Offer Enhanced Protection to Smallholder Farmers
Kenyan companies SunCulture, a leader in solar irrigation solutions, and Turaco, a major insurtech player, have joined forces to launch "SunCulture Protect", a program designed to provide enhanced protection to smallholder farmers using SunCulture's pay-as-you-go (PAYG) devices.
This partnership aims to address the urgent need for risk management tools, such as insurance, for vulnerable populations, facilitating access to healthcare and expanding it. This initiative comes at a time when the impacts of climate change are intensifying, with the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events expected to increase, negatively affecting health outcomes and pushing millions of Africans into poverty.
