Environmental Projects Advance in Kairouan, Tunisia

The Tunisian Ministry of Environment has announced the progress of several environmental projects in the Kairouan governorate, including sanitation, green spaces, and wastewater management. During a visit on Monday, the ministry presented an environmental plan that is part of the 2026-2030 development program. One of the most advanced projects is the modernization of the Kairouan wastewater treatment plant. The works, which focus on equipment and aeration systems, have reached 70% completion. The ministry also announced several construction sites related to the sanitation network, including the connection of the Torhouni and République neighborhoods through 7 kilometers of pipelines, as well as the continuation of work in the El Allem and Dalloussi areas. In Menzel Mehiri, the construction of a wastewater treatment plant has reached 80% completion. Sanitation networks are also being built in Nasrallah and Menzel Mehiri.
