Ministry of Social Affairs Validates Amendment to Convention for Liberal Doctors
A decree from the Minister of Social Affairs, dated January 23, 2025, has validated Amendment No. 6 to the sectoral agreement for liberal doctors, concluded between the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) and the Tunisian Syndicate of Liberal Doctors. This decision was published in the latest Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT).
Signed on July 31, 2024, this agreement aims to enrich and expand the services offered to CNAM affiliates, particularly in terms of cancer treatment. It provides for the extension of coverage for healthcare expenses to include radiotherapy, as well as the addition of 12 new surgical interventions in the private sector related to cancers, such as breast and lung cancer.
This amendment is particularly significant since the list of covered diseases had not been updated since 2007. The Ministry of Social Affairs specifies that this reform is part of the state's strategy to strengthen social policy and aims, in the long term, to offer more comprehensive social coverage.
