Carthage Puppet Arts Days (JAMC) Come to a Close

The Carthage Puppet Arts Days (JAMC) came to an end on Saturday at the City of Culture, after a week of animations and shows dedicated to young audiences. The closing ceremony was marked by the announcement of the winners of the National Puppet Arts Competition.

The jury, chaired by Brazilian Paulo Nazareno, awarded only two prizes: the second prize (2000 DT) to Khouloud Thabet and the third prize (1000 DT) to Haythem Wannassi, as no candidate was deemed worthy of the first prize. The jury also noted a generally insufficient level and recommended a clearer distinction between professionals and amateurs to ensure greater equity.

With 33 shows and over 100 puppeteers from 19 countries, this 6th edition also introduced an animation cinema section, marking a significant evolution of the festival.
