Agricultural Investments Soar in Tunisia's Center-East Region in Q1 2025, approved agricultural investments surged in several regions of Tunisia, with the Center-East region standing out.
This zone, which includes Monastir, Mahdia, Sousse, Kairouan, Siliana, and Kasserine, attracted 50% of the total value of approved projects, amounting to 44.6 million dinars, a 149% increase compared to the previous year. The governorates of Sfax, Sidi Bouzid, Gafsa, and Tozeur followed, with 23% of investments and 20.9 million dinars, up 66%. In contrast, the North-West and South-East regions recorded a decline.
In the category of investments exceeding 200,000 dinars (Category "B"), agriculture remains dominant, representing 41% of the total, amounting to 33.1 million dinars, with a 3% increase. Agricultural services are gaining momentum, with a 72% increase, representing 30% of Category B investments. Aquaculture also made progress, whereas the first transformation of agricultural products plummeted by 42%.
These projects are expected to generate 488 jobs, a 6% increase. No foreign direct investment was recorded, compared to 996,000 dinars injected during the same period in 2024.
