The Minister of Tourism, Sofiene Tekaya, announced that field visits will be organized next week in the governorate of Bizerte to follow up on several suspended tourism projects and accelerate the processing of pending investment files. This announcement was made during the Regional Tourism Council held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the headquarters of the Bizerte governorate.
Mobilization of National Commission to Examine Investment Requests
The minister specified that a mobilization of the national commission responsible for examining investment requests in the tourism sector is planned to accelerate the study of blocked files and facilitate the relaunch of projects. Discussions focused on the results of tourism activity in the region, as well as the priorities for the next period, including:
- Accelerating investments
- Addressing structural difficulties
- Improving the business climate in the tourism sector
National Orientations to Simplify Administrative Procedures
The minister emphasized that these actions are part of the national orientations aimed at simplifying administrative procedures, supporting regional development, and creating new economic opportunities.
Bizerte: An Important Destination for Domestic Tourism
The minister also indicated that Bizerte is an important destination for domestic tourism, calling for:
- Strengthening accommodation capacities
- Developing the tourist offer
- Intensifying tourist animation programs to improve the attractiveness of the region.
