Annual Conference of the Tunisian Institute of Administrators (ITA) Focuses on Artificial Intelligence and Governance

The annual conference of the Tunisian Institute of Administrators (ITA) was held on June 6, 2023, under the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Governance: Interactions, Challenges, and Perspectives."

Adapting to Artificial Intelligence

The event highlighted the importance of adapting to artificial intelligence. Néji Ghandri, President of the Banking and Financial Council (CBF) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Amen Bank, emphasized that AI is rapidly advancing since the arrival of ChatGPT, which will push AI to reinvent professions. He also stated that the current challenge in organizational governance is the ethical and responsible integration of AI, and that the future of Tunisian companies will depend on their ability to navigate this new landscape intelligently.

Panel Discussion: AI Implications for Businesses and Banks

The panel discussion, moderated by Neila Benzina, Founding Partner at Wimbee France and Administrator at Attijariwafa Bank Tunisia, explored the implications of AI for businesses and banks. Mehdi Mahjoub, General Manager of Hyundai Tunisie, noted that the automotive world is undergoing a transformation due to AI, and the adoption of autonomous vehicles is inevitable, despite customer resistance.

Kais Bellil, General Manager of OneTech Group, emphasized that AI is not as new as people think, and it can help process data more efficiently, which is a significant advantage for risk management.

Karim Ahres, General Manager of Netcom SA, discussed the challenges of AI, asking whether it is an opportunity or a risk for businesses. He also announced the launch of the ISO 42001 certification program in September 2024, which is the standard for AI management systems.

Human Limitations in AI

Elyes Ben Rayana, Co-Founder and CEO of Value and Administrator at Biat, reiterated that despite AI's rapid progress, humans will never become obsolete, as there are technical limitations to AI.

Partnership Agreements and Certificate Ceremony

The event concluded with the signing of partnership agreements between ITA and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Qatar National Bank (QNB), and Arab Tunisian Lease (ATL), as well as the ceremony for the presentation of certificates to bank and company administrators for the 2023-2024 promotions of ITA.
