Consumer Price Index Increases by 0.3% in August 2025
According to the monthly bulletin of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) with a base of 100 in 2015, consumer prices rose by 0.3% in August 2025 compared to July 2025.

This increase can be mainly attributed to:
- A 1.5% rise in food product prices
- A 1% increase in education services
Food Product Prices
The 1.5% monthly increase in food prices is primarily due to:
- A 7.7% surge in poultry prices
- A 7.2% increase in egg prices
- A 1.9% rise in fresh vegetable prices
- A 1.9% increase in fresh fish prices
- A 1.2% rise in beef prices
- A 1.1% increase in fresh fruit prices
Education Services
The 1% increase in education services is linked to:
- A 1.8% rise in pre-elementary and primary education tariffs
- A 1.3% increase in school supplies
Decline in Clothing Prices
In contrast, clothing prices decreased by 4.6% in August, mainly due to the launch of summer sales, with:
- A 4.7% drop in clothing items
- A 5.4% decrease in shoe prices
