Innov'i - EU4Innovation Project Closes with a Ceremony in Tunis

The Innov'i - EU4Innovation project was officially closed today, Monday, February 10, 2025, during a ceremony held in Tunis, attended by the Minister of Economy and Planning, the French Ambassador, representatives of the European Union in Tunisia, and implementation partners.

This event brought together over 200 participants, including Tunisian and French dignitaries, as well as numerous stakeholders involved in the project.

The Innov'i - EU4Innovation project aims to support, strengthen, structure, and sustain the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in Tunisia, contributing to sustainable and inclusive economic development. It seeks to improve the structuring and sustainability of the innovation and entrepreneurship system.

Anne Guéguen, French Ambassador to Tunisia, stated: "France is proud to support the digitalization of the economy and the development of startups across Tunisia. Since 2019, over 2000 young Tunisians have been trained, and more than 1100 project holders have been accompanied towards innovative, sustainable, and inclusive entrepreneurship, thanks to the Innov'i - EU4Innovation project implemented by Expertise France."

Over nearly six years, the project's grant program has assisted 25 projects carried by 23 support structures, selected through four calls for projects.

Additionally, four structures were created to support the establishment and development of project holders and projects, including:

  • The Dot hub for digital innovation in Tunisia
  • SAVE cooperation with the CDC and smart capital
  • ELIFE centers for opening a network of regional organizations
  • Tunisian Startups association

Supported actions have contributed to the accompaniment of over 1100 project initiators, including nearly 800 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises and 400 entrepreneurs in the creation phase. Furthermore, it has awarded funding to 322 project initiators, totaling over 6 million dinars. These initiatives have enabled the introduction and training of entrepreneurship to over 2000 young people aged 8 to 20 from different regions, through programs organized in schools and ELIFE centers.
