Minister of Equipment and Housing Inaugurates New Bridge on Regional Road 22
Yesterday, August 25, Minister of Equipment and Housing Slah Zouari inaugurated the new bridge located on Regional Road 22.
This infrastructure now directly connects the Trauma and Burns Center in Ben Arous to the entrances of El Mourouj city.
During his visit to the construction site of the southern entrance of Tunis, the minister emphasized the need for better coordination between all stakeholders, including regional authorities and security forces. This call comes ahead of the opening, scheduled for the end of the week, of a tunnel at the Cité Ennour (Kabaria) level, which will facilitate access to Béja and the western neighborhoods of Tunis, such as Sidi Hassine and Zahrouni.
Deeply interested in the project's progress, Slah Zouari was informed about the work's three main stages: the first focusing on the area around the Saint-Gobain railway, the second on the Kabaria interchange, and the third on the sector of the Trauma and Burns Center.
With a total budget of 370 million dinars, financed by the Tunisian state and the European Investment Bank, this extension project spans 11.5 kilometers. It promises to significantly improve road traffic fluidity while boosting local economic activity, according to the Ministry of Equipment.
