Tunisia's Hydrocarbon Sector: Active Permits and Concessions
At the end of 2025, Tunisia has 12 active permits related to hydrocarbons, including 11 research permits and 1 exploration permit, according to the National Energy Observatory. These permits allow for the search and exploration of oil and gas on the national territory.

- 57 oil concessions: 44 are already in production
- The Tunisian state, through the Tunisian Enterprise of Petroleum Activities (ETAP), participates in 34 concessions in partnership with other companies and fully owns 3 concessions
Exploration Activities
No new seismic operations were launched in 2025, but four new development wells were drilled:
- "CRG-10 ST"
- "CRG-12 ST"
- "PDG-5"
- "SHG-W1" Additionally, the drilling of a well started in 2023, "SMGNE-13", was continued.
