Tunisian Olive Oil Exports: Volume Increases, Revenue Decreases
Key Figures for the 2024-2025 Campaign
According to the National Observatory of Agriculture (Onagri), Tunisia's olive oil exports have shown a significant increase in volume during the first ten months of the 2024-2025 campaign. However, revenue has decreased by approximately 29.5% compared to the same period last year.
Export Volumes and Revenue
- Nearly 252,700 tonnes of olive oil were exported, with 85.3% being bulk exports.
- The total value of these exports reached around 3.3 billion dinars, with 79% of revenue coming from bulk olive oil.
Reasons for Revenue Decrease
The decline in revenue is mainly attributed to the drop in international prices. The average export price of olive oil decreased by 50.1% in August 2025 compared to August 2024.
Organic Olive Oil Exports on the Rise
On a positive note, organic olive oil has strengthened its presence in foreign markets, with exports reaching:
- 48,900 tonnes
- A value of approximately 664.8 million dinars
These figures highlight the growing demand for high-quality, organic Tunisian olive oil, despite the challenges faced by the industry due to fluctuating international prices.
