Hilton Group Prepares to Return to the Tunisian Market
The Hilton group is preparing to make its comeback on the Tunisian market. Just a few months ahead of the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage, Belhassen Tebourbi has been appointed as the General Manager of the establishment. This appointment entrusts a seasoned executive with the mission of launching the new address of the American chain in the capital.
A New Chapter for Belhassen Tebourbi
This new chapter marks a change of group for Belhassen Tebourbi, following over fifteen years spent with Accor. Until July 2026, he was directing the Novotel Tunis Lac, where he was responsible for overseeing operations, financial performance, management indicators, and commercial development.
Previous Experience
Prior to this experience, he had already led another major opening by taking the helm of the ibis Sfax from the pre-opening phase. His career also includes directing rooms and revenue management for the Novotel & ibis Tunis hotels, which were also launched as part of a pre-opening project, as well as holding responsibilities at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts and Concorde Hotels & Resorts.
A Specialist in Launch Phases
This succession of projects has made him a specialist in launch phases, a highly sought-after profile in international hospitality where the first few months of operation often condition the profitability and positioning of an establishment.
Academic Background
On the academic front, Belhassen Tebourbi recently strengthened his profile with an MBA obtained in 2025 from the South Mediterranean University (MSB), following a degree in hotel management from the Institut Supérieur des Études Touristiques et Hôtelières de Sidi Dhrif (ISETH).
The Return of Hilton to Tunis
Beyond the appointment, this arrival illustrates another dynamic: the return of Hilton to Tunis. For the American group, the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Tunis Carthage represents a new stage in its development in North Africa. For industry professionals, the project is already underway, with a recruitment campaign aimed at forming the hotel's founding team.
Recruitment Campaign
In his message on his LinkedIn page, Belhassen Tebourbi indicates that recruitment is open to support this launch phase, hinting at an opening that is gradually entering its operational phase.
