Digital Transformation of the Tunisian Healthcare System: A Strategic Priority

The digital transformation of the Tunisian healthcare system is gradually becoming a strategic priority. In this context, the Healthcare IT Forum 2026 will take place from May 5th to 6th, an event dedicated to the technological challenges of the healthcare sector in Tunisia.

Organized by Extra Com, Under the Auspices of the Ministry of Health

Organized by Extra Com, under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and in collaboration with its Computer Center (CIMS), this event is designed as the first national reference meeting. The forum will bring together, over two days, IT decision-makers from public hospitals, private clinics, and pharmaceutical industries. The objective is clear: to create a space for exchange around the major digital transformations that are redefining the sector, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data management, and business solutions.

Keynote and Panels

From the opening, the tone will be set with a keynote on artificial intelligence in healthcare, led by Dr. Riadh Chaker, who will discuss the real opportunities of this technology, as well as its limitations and conditions for success. The program will then feature a series of panels and workshops focused on concrete themes, such as the acceleration of Healthcare IT in Tunisia by 2030, the interoperability of information systems between the public and private sectors, and the integration of AI in radiology. Cybersecurity will also occupy a central place in the discussions, with several sessions addressing the protection of hospital systems, the securing of sensitive data in the pharmaceutical industry, and the new risks associated with the digitization of care.

Practical Workshops and Networking Opportunities

Practical workshops will allow participants to better understand the regulatory and technical challenges, particularly in terms of health data management. Beyond conferences, the forum will emphasize the sharing of experiences and concrete case studies. Technological and institutional actors will present innovative solutions, ranging from intelligent ERP to the use of AI in pharmaceutical processes. Special attention will be paid to startups, with a dedicated panel on possible synergies between innovation and national priorities, as well as a "Healthcare Innovation Challenge" aimed at promoting emerging initiatives. The event also aims to strengthen interactions between the different actors in the ecosystem, offering a networking opportunity between IT experts, healthcare professionals, and solution providers, facilitating the emergence of future partnerships.
