Ministry of Commerce Denies Rumors of Upcoming Price Increases for Essential Goods
Rumors circulating about a forthcoming increase in the prices of several essential goods are unfounded, as no such decision has been announced by the Ministry of Commerce and Export Development.
In recent days, various social media pages have shared posts suggesting new tariffs for fuels and domestic gas, as well as for milk, sugar, subsidized vegetable oil, semolina, and flour.
The Ministry has formally denied these claims. It clarified that the amounts circulated online do not appear in any official documents, and no communication from its departments announces any changes to the prices of these items.
The department reiterated that preserving purchasing power remains a key social priority for the State. In this context, it stated that no price increases for basic products are currently being considered.
In response to the spread of this information, the Ministry urges consumers to verify any price-related announcements through its official channels, including its official social media page and website.
Consequently, the new tariffs shared on social media do not constitute an official announcement by the Ministry of Commerce.
