Industrial Investments in Tunisia Reach 2,251.1 Million Dinars in November 2024

Industrial investments declared in Tunisia reached 2,251.1 million dinars (Mtnd) by the end of November 2024, representing a 3.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to data published in the conjunctural bulletin of the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).

Partnership projects and fully foreign investments showed a significant increase, reaching 186.6 Mtnd and 330.2 Mtnd, respectively, up 17.2% compared to the previous year. Investments declared by Tunisians also experienced a slight increase of 0.2%, reaching 1,734.5 Mtnd.

Notable Dynamics in the Industrial Sector

The industrial sector recorded a notable dynamic, with 3,086 projects declared, representing a 13% increase. New creations accounted for a significant share, with 2,471 projects, up 20.1%. Tunisian initiatives were also significant, with 2,717 projects, marking a 16.2% increase.

Local Market and Development Zones on the Rise

Among the declared projects, 2,950 are oriented towards the local market, recording a 38.8% increase. Development zones also benefited from increased attention, with 820 projects declared, representing a 14% increase.

Industrial Exports Reach 51,382.9 Mtnd

Industrial exports reached 51,382.9 Mtnd during the first eleven months of 2024, a slight increase of 0.8% compared to 2023. These performances concern various sectors, including agro-food industries (6,406.1 Mtnd), mechanical and electrical industries (26,458 Mtnd), chemical industries (3,212.6 Mtnd), as well as textiles, clothing, and leather (10,475.2 Mtnd).

Dynamism in the Service Sector

Declared investments in service activities recorded a remarkable 46.1% increase, totaling 992.3 Mtnd. Projects initiated by Tunisians represented 854.5 Mtnd (+43.6%), while mixed projects (71.2 Mtnd) and foreign projects (66.6 Mtnd) increased by 109.4% and 31.6%, respectively.

Investments in Industry-Related Services

Industry-related services attracted 186.4 Mtnd in investments, mainly distributed between transportation (36.7%), IT (24.5%), and other services (38.8%).
