Tunisian Startup Relead Revolutionizes Wi-Fi Connectivity and Monetization

Offerring internet access everywhere and for everyone while enabling businesses to monetize their Wi-Fi: this is the challenge taken up by Relead, a Tunisian startup led by Hadhami Rjiba, winner of the Impact Tech award at the 2025 Women Entrepreneurs Trophies in Tunisia, sponsored by UIB. The event is organized by Managers in collaboration with the EU Delegation and in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.

Thanks to innovative technology and an ingenious economic model, Rjiba transforms connectivity into an opportunity for businesses and consumers.

When she was still a student at the engineering school in Sousse, she never imagined becoming an entrepreneur. However, her associative commitment and business sense led her to identify opportunities. It was in response to a beauty salon owner's request to offer accessible Wi-Fi in exchange for a "Like" on their Facebook page that she discovered the potential of captive portals. With her associate Rayan Cherni, she turned this idea into a concrete project and founded Relead in September 2021.

Relead is based on a win-win approach: customers benefit from free Wi-Fi access after watching a short advertisement, while businesses monetize their network by hosting advertisers. The platform developed by Relead provides advertisers with detailed KPIs on the performance of their campaigns. This model has quickly seduced many establishments, from cafes to shopping centers.

After a first proof of concept, Relead installed its first 50 access points in Sousse before expanding its network to other cities. Novation City played a key role in offering a space to develop and test the solution. Glovo was Relead's first client, a partnership that allowed the company to validate its economic model and attract new partners, particularly in the automotive sector.

Rather than adopting an existing solution, Hadhami Rjiba and her team chose to develop their own operating system and router. This approach guarantees total control over the infrastructure, better cybersecurity, and the ability to customize the user experience. The platform allows real-time monitoring of access point activity, offering optimized management to partner businesses.

Since its creation, Relead has experienced rapid growth: its revenue has increased from 11,000 to 130,000 dinars between 2022 and 2024, with a goal of reaching one million dinars before expanding internationally. In February, the startup installed its headquarters in Tunis to accelerate its commercial development and strengthen its partner network.

To support its expansion, Relead is preparing a strategic fundraising campaign. The goal is to invest in research and development, expand the commercial team, and improve technology to remain competitive in the market. "We want to establish ourselves in several countries and facilitate internet access for everyone," affirms Hadhami Rjiba.

Beyond its commercial ambition, Relead carries a genuine social project: reducing the digital divide and making Wi-Fi access as natural as access to water or electricity. With a team of 20 motivated and resilient people, the Tunisian startup aims to establish itself as a leader in proximity advertising and accessible connectivity.
