GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize 2024 Unveils 12 Finalists

On August 1st, the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize 2024 announced its 12 finalists, selected from nearly 2,000 candidates. These finalists embody innovation and sustainability, offering solutions to feed Africa while preserving its natural resources.

These young entrepreneurs have successfully combined profitability with social impact, developing innovative economic models that create added value throughout the food chain. Their projects cover various domains, from precision agriculture to the valorization of agricultural waste, including the promotion of responsible water use and the reduction of post-harvest losses.

Among the 12 finalists is Habib Mestiri, a young Tunisian entrepreneur, who stands out with his company Hayat Technology. Habib has developed an innovative technology using artificial intelligence to optimize irrigation, making agriculture more efficient and sustainable. His project aims to maximize water usage while increasing agricultural yields, directly addressing the challenges of water resource management in arid regions.

It's worth noting that the finalists will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, in early September to present their projects during the GoGettaz Africa finals, as part of the Annual Africa Food Systems Forum (AFS Forum). This event will offer them valuable visibility and networking opportunities with industry leaders, potential investors, and policymakers.

Two grand prizes of $50,000 and GoGettaz Impact prizes, totaling $60,000, will be awarded.
