Transport Union Announces Sectoral Strike in Tunisia
The General Federation of Transport, affiliated with the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), has announced a sectoral strike scheduled for July 30, 31, and August 1, 2025, in the terrestrial transport sector. This mobilization follows a protest against what the federation describes as the "deterioration of working conditions" and the "lack of minimum professional safety conditions."
Difficult Working Conditions
In its statement, the federation highlights that agents and executives operate in particularly difficult conditions, citing the obsolescence of equipment, the absence of preventive measures, and the lack of adapted work attire. It also points out the constraints related to extreme climate conditions, both in summer and winter, as well as the verbal and physical violence suffered during the exercise of their duties.
Demands and Ultimatum
Furthermore, the federation has requested that transport companies submit the nominal lists of personnel subject to requisitions before July 26, while recalling that "resorting to this mechanism does not constitute a solution in itself."
Strike Warning
Finally, the federation has warned that the strike will be maintained if the demands do not receive satisfactory responses during the next negotiation meeting.
