Google Continues to Develop AI Technologies, Integrates AI into Products to Counter ChatGPT
Google is pushing forward with its AI technologies, and in response to the competition from ChatGPT, is integrating artificial intelligence into its products.
The company has announced three new AI-powered features for Chrome, initially available in the US and set to be rolled out globally later this year.
Here are the three new features:
Google Lens
With the latest Chrome update, Google Lens will now be available on desktop. Users will be able to access information about an online image via the Lens icon in the address bar, ask follow-up questions, and receive answers generated by AI Overviews.
Tab to Compare
Chrome will soon add a personalized product comparator, called Tab to Compare. Powered by AI, this tool will display an overview of products opened in different tabs, including information such as price, ratings, user reviews, and technical specifications.
AI-Powered Search in Browsing History
The browsing history lists all the sites you've visited, but finding a specific page can be tedious. To simplify this process, Google Chrome will integrate AI-powered search into the browsing history, allowing for conversational search, similar to interacting with a chatbot. However, Google notes that this option can be disabled in settings and will not take into account searches conducted in private browsing mode.
