The International Gas Union, Snam, and Rystad Energy have released a report titled "Global Gas Report 2024". According to the report, global gas markets remain in a fragile balance, with limited growth in supply and steady increases in demand, which rose by 1.5% in 2023 and is expected to accelerate to 2.1% by the end of this year.

In Africa, energy demand is growing faster than in most regions, driven by urban development. However, it remains insufficient to ensure total access to energy, with equitable access to electricity remaining a major challenge.
