National Federation of Tunisian Municipalities Signs Partnership Agreement with National Waste Management Agency

The National Federation of Tunisian Municipalities has signed a partnership agreement with the National Waste Management Agency to strengthen sustainable waste management in Tunisian municipalities and promote the circular economy.

The agreement was signed on Thursday, May 7, 2026, during a ceremony chaired by Fathi Majri, President of the National Federation of Tunisian Municipalities, and Badreddine Asmar, Director General of the National Waste Management Agency. This convention aims to establish a framework for strategic cooperation between the two organizations on waste governance and support for local communities. The partnership also provides for cooperation in the fields of scientific research and development, particularly through the supervision of university students in the context of final projects and internships. The stated goal is to contribute to the generalization of selective sorting at source and the development of the circular economy model in municipalities.

Among the priorities identified in the framework of this convention is the increase in the rate of waste valorization, particularly organic waste, through municipal projects, as well as the dissemination of local experiences that have achieved positive results in this field.
