Innovative Waste Management Project in Gafsa, Tunisia
As part of the "ProtecT" project, funded by the GIZ, aiming to protect the environment through circular economy, the governorate of Gafsa, specifically the municipality of El Guettar, will see the creation of an irrigation unit and an artificial intelligence-powered waste sorting center, according to a statement from the National Waste Management Agency (ANGed).
In parallel, the municipality will establish an organic fertilizer production unit and nurseries, equipped with the necessary tools to promote sustainable agriculture.
Launched in 2022, this project, now in its final phase of implementation, represents an innovative waste management model that could transform not only the Gafsa region but also serve as an example for other regions in Tunisia.
