Gabon to Launch E-Visa Modernization with Electronic Payment
Starting in December, Gabon will launch the modernization of its e-Visa system by integrating electronic payment, in partnership with MaDigiPaie. Travelers will now be able to pay their visa fees online, putting an end to the obligation to pay in cash at the airport.
Current Situation
Currently, although the visa application is already available on the evisa.dgdi.ga portal, payment is still made in cash upon arrival.
Objective of the Initiative
This initiative aims to simplify the process, reduce waiting lines, and align Gabon with international standards.
Partnership and Collaboration
The Ministry of Digital Economy has confirmed the collaboration with mobile payment operators such as Airtel Money, Moov Money, and Clikpay Money.
Part of a Broader Reform
This project is part of a broader reform to modernize public services, including national digital identity and the promotion of national preference.
