Partnerships Signed to Launch Second Phase of "Takween" Program

Yesterday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, several partnerships were signed. "Swisscontact" Tunisia, the National Agency for Vocational Training (ANETI), the Tourism Trades Training Agency, and the Tunisian Association of Women Engineers have concluded agreements to launch the second phase of the "Takween" program. This program is the result of Tunisian-Swiss cooperation aimed at improving vocational training in Tunisia.

About the "Takween" Program

Launched in 2020, the "Takween" program adopts an innovative approach to vocational training through apprenticeships. Its main goal is to increase the employability of higher education graduates, particularly those from vocational training backgrounds. It aims to respond to the specific needs of the labor market by gradually generalizing certified training in various sectors, both public and private.

In addition to developing management capacities, "Takween" encourages innovative teaching methods to align workers' skills with the current needs of businesses. The program offers four integrated training pathways, in public-private partnership, covering the sectors of industry, agriculture, services, tourism, and traditional trades.

First Phase of "Takween" Program

The first phase of "Takween", which will last until 2026, includes initiatives to strengthen the national vocational training system and increase its attractiveness. Among these initiatives is the organization of the National Vocational Training Forum in May 2024, a crucial platform for discussing challenges and progress in this field.

Minister's Statement

Lotfi Dhieb, Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, highlighted the importance of these Tunisian-Swiss partnerships for Tunisia's economic and social development. He stated that the "Takween" program represents a significant step forward for better integrating young people into the labor market, while strengthening bilateral relations in the field of employment and vocational training.
