Tunisia Hosts Training for 100 Libyan Job Seekers, Strengthening Bilateral Ties

A training program for 100 Libyan job seekers was held in Tunisia, with a closing ceremony taking place on September 15, 2024, in Tunis. The event, supervised by the Tunisian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training and the Libyan Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, aims to strengthen ties between the two countries.

This initiative seeks to address the needs of Libyan companies in specialized sectors, including automotive diagnostics and maintenance, ordinary and industrial welding techniques, and solar energy system installation. The goal is to revitalize the Libyan job market by providing job seekers with skills adapted to current requirements.

Following the training, a working session between the two delegations led to several key agreements, including the update of the memorandum of understanding between Tunisia and Libya. The two countries agreed to establish joint technical commissions and develop an action plan featuring an electronic platform to facilitate connections between Libyan job offers and job seekers.

They also decided to encourage expertise exchange in vocational training and qualification. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to organizing targeted training, promoting youth integration into the job market, and supporting the private sector.
